President of Japanese Para-Swimming Federation
(JAPANESE PARA-SWIMMING FEDERATION)Welcome Message for the Para Swimming World Series
2025 Fuji-ShizuokaDear Para Swimming Family from around the world,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to Fuji City in Shizuoka Prefecture, my home prefecture. I am deeply honored to host the Para Swimming World Series 2025 Fuji-Shizuoka at the Shizuoka Prefectural Fuji Swimming Pools, located at the foot of Mount Fuji, a World Natural Heritage site and a symbol of Japan. April is one of the most pleasant seasons in Japan, offering ideal conditions for all.
Four years ago, the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics had to be held without spectators due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Now, four years later, we are excited to once again host an international competition on our home soil, providing our local spectators with a valuable opportunity to experience the boundless potential of para swimmers. Japan’s passionate and knowledgeable para swimming fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing your world-class performances.
We hope you will also enjoy our Japanese-style hospitality, traditional Japanese cuisine, Washoku, which is registered under UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and the many other cultural delights our country has to offer during your visit.
Let me assure you that this event will provide everyone with much excitement through highly competitive races and wonderful overall experiences. We look forward to welcoming as many participants and nations as possible. See you in April at the pool in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture!
Warm regards,

Welcome Message from the Mayor of Fuji City
for the Para Swimming World Series Fuji-Shizuoka 2025It is with great pleasure that we welcome athletes, officials, and guests from around the world to the Para Swimming World Series Fuji-Shizuoka 2025, the first-ever World Series event to be held in Japan. On behalf of the citizens of Fuji City, I extend my warmest welcome to all participants.Para swimming is a unique sport in which athletes compete using only their physical abilities, without assistive devices, and are classified based on the type and degree of their impairments. One of the most unique aspects of this sport is the diverse range of techniques and strategies displayed by athletes across different classifications. For the citizens of Fuji, having the opportunity to witness world-class athletes compete up close is truly a rare and valuable experience.
Our city is nestled between the majestic Mount Fuji to the north and the Suruga Bay to the south, and is blessed with a warm climate, abundant greenery, and a rich supply of underground water. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Fuji that change with the seasons, as well as savor local specialties such as Fuji’s renowned green tea, Fuji pears, and Tagonoura shirasu (baby sardines).
To all the athletes participating, we sincerely hope you will showcase your best performances, demonstrating the results of your dedicated training, and achieve your personal goals in this competition.
Beyond the competition, we encourage you all to take in the magnificent views of Mount Fuji and experience the warm hospitality of our city.
In closing, I would like to express my deepest respect and gratitude to the Japanese Para-Swimming Federation and all those who have contributed to making this event possible. We sincerely wish for the success of this competition and once again extend our heartfelt welcome to all.
